This is such a special feast day!  Our Lord returns in triumph to Heaven and takes His glorious throne.  He takes with Him the human nature He assumed, thus paving the way for us and re-emphasizing how very precious and dignified human nature is.  And lest his disciples should mourn His departure, He promises to send them the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter and Advocate, the third Person of the Holy Trinity, who would never leave them orphaned.

Christ Himself also promised that He would remain with us until the end of time.  And He is with us always and everywhere in the Holy Eucharist.  He is with us not in some vague spiritual sense, but really and truly, in this world, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity!

Days like this remind me of how very fortunate I am to be Catholic!  It reminds me of how very close God is to us.
